Um, days 8-10 were sheer hell on me. I was crying, yelling, kicking everything to get past the craves! I made it and after that I felt so much better! Get through this and it only goes up from here! You can do this! SteveK - You did an amazing thing! You went to town, came home again after 4 hours and DIDN'T SMOKE! Aren't you proud of yourself? I certainly am proud of you. You are beginning the best journey of your life. You will feel better, I promise - it's just going to take a while - try to replace your cravings with different rewards and everytime you think of cigs - replace your thoughts with thinking of somewhere pleasant - like the ocean...and watching the waves. Think of the smell of fresh cut grass and take a trip down memory lane about doing the yard work for your parents when you were growing up...just get lost in those thoughts. When you can't take the anger anymore, turn off the lights, lay down on the floor and concentrate on your deep breathing, listen to yourself breathe and try relaxing every part of your body from your toes on up to the top of your head. Keep breathing - deep breath and hold it for 5 seconds then blow it out through your mouth. Just take it one hour at a time. Know that you are doing the best thing you can for yourself.
