Phillipa, good for you, you're using your coping mechanisms, smoking won't change anything, it'll only make it worse, you're done with hell week, the worse is behind you, take deep breaths inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth, have a cool glass of water, you will feel better. May I ask what are trainers? Hope you feel better Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 112 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,691 Amount Saved: $448 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 20 Mins: 47 Seconds: 42

hi - day 8 - had a row with my husband and I am sitting here with my trainers on because I considered using the argument as an excuse to go and buy cigarettes. I walked away from him and upstairs to my computer rather than to the shop. Every day is throwing up reasons to re-start smoking. I probably engineer arguments just so I have an excuse to smoke again.Just have to keep arguing myself out of it! sorry but need to write this down. Need to recognise junkie speak when it is happening!

Phillipa, good for you for coming here and exposing those junkie thoughts! Eight days is super and as Marie said, smoking won't improve a thing. Phil, I have moved your thread so as to receive more responses! First, take some you time and congratulate yourself for 8 days. Anger is a symptom and many members experience this. Take the time to count to 20 before saying something you will regret. Make a list of chores, hobbies and activities that you can focus on to get rid of that stress and anger. Keep fighting that demon, it will get easier. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
