I've been doing well these past few weeks. I'm continuing my exposure work and increasing my hours at work. However, I've noticed that when I'm really stressed, I tend to really avoid doing exactly what is good for me (self care). This past week I found out that my beloved family pet had a terminal illness. I managed my emotions quite well. I didn't cry or get upset and stayed calm, which is a real improvement for me. But I really avoided the things I usually do for myself(exercise, progressive relaxation, journalling, etc.) and just kind of "zoned out" in my spare time. I wonder if this is just because this is what I used to do, so it's comforting, or what?
